Dusty Trice caught the hypocrisy of Gov. T-Bag’s appearance on Faux News yesterday; about how Gov. T-Bag cancelled an appearance at Harvard University when there was a potential for a Swine Flu outbreak but had Pawlenty of time to chat away about teabagger bull(stuff) on Faux News while Minneapolis was cleaning up after yesterday’s tornados. It’s all about the priorities, doncha know?

So I’m watching Gov. T-Bag, and I spit coffee on the keyboard when Gov. T-Bag said this:

The federal government has run every entitlement program they have essentially into the ground Medicare is broke. Medicaid is broke Social Security is broke they’ve running every program they have them — that nature into the ground why would we give them another one to run and manage into the ground.”

O
M
G.

Just exactly who – WHO – has “run the government” over the last, say, 40 years?

Nixon – 1969 to 1974; Ford 1974 to 1977 (GOP 8, Dems 0)

Carter, 1977 to 1981 (GOP 8, Dems 4)

Reagan 1981 to 1989 (GOP 16, Dems 4)

Bush The Elder, 1989 to 1993 (GOP 20, Dems 4)

Clinton 1993 to 2001 (GOP 20, Dems 12)

Bush The Lesser, 2001 to 2009 (GOP 28, Dems 12)

Over the last 40 years, the GOP has run the federal government, and it’s entitlement programs, for 28 of the last 40 years.

So, when Gov. T-Bag says the “government has run everything into the ground” – that’s HIS party he’s talking about.

And in a way, T-Bag is “right” – we should NOT give the GOP another chance to run government; they break EVERYTHING.

…you can’t argue with a sick mind.

Earlier today, I posted on Faux News’ “coverage” of Rep. Barney Frank’s Town Hall, which was the prelude to Bachmann MotorMouth Overdrive’s intervew by Sean insHannity. Here’s some footage of Rep. Frank’s Town Hall you won’t see on Faux News – let’s look!

Rep. Barney Frank: When you ask me that question I’m going to revert to my ethnic heritage and answer your question with a question. On what planet do you spend most of your time?

[....]

You want me to answer the question? Yes. As you stand there with a picture of the President defaced to look like Hitler and compare the effort to increase health care to the Nazis, my answer to you is as I said before, it is a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated. Ma’am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table. I have no interest in doing it.

Political Muse of Liberal in the Land of Conservative has the following on his blog’s masthead:

“I have been thinking that I would make a proposition to my Republican friends….that if they will stop telling lies about the Democrats, we will stop telling the truth about them.” -Adlai Stevenson (1952)

It’s even worse today; “conservatives” simply lie about everything.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Rep. Barney Frank is spot on: those people have no interest – NONE – in dealing with reality. Birthers and Deathers – sponsored by AstroTurfers – calling people socialists and communists and nazis, all orchestrated and approved of by GOP Party “leadership” – well, reasonable people simply cannot reasonably believe anything – ANYTHING – today’s GOP “leaders” say. As for the lemmings the GOP’s “leaders” lead astray?

Rep. Barney Frank sets a great example – call them out for the whack-jobs that they are.

Molly Ivins said that a definition of an honest politician in Texas is one that once bought, stays bought. Look no further than John Kline for proof of that, in a Texas politician. And Freshman GOPer Erik Paulsen sure seems to be following John Kline’s lead! Let’s look!

That’s a question that should be asked, if – IF – Kline and Paulsen actually schedule, and Bachmann actually follows through, with Town Hall Meetings.

The question should also be asked of GOP State Chair Tony Sutton, and GOP State Deputy Chair Michael Brodkorb.

There’s a powder keg out there, with a short fuse. And today’s GOP leadership is sending out sparks. If one of those sparks catches, well……you can be sure, the GOP will blame it on anybody and everybody but themselves.

Here’s Rachel Maddow:

And speaking of the “MOB” – I noted this:

Moving The MOB
August 13th, 2009 by Mitch Berg
Well, the verdict (throwing out all the votest for “crashing Drinking Liberally”) was pretty decisive. People want the MOB Summer Party moved to September 12.

So moved it shall be!

Location to be officially announced later.

Who knows? Might be a real barnburner….

Here’s how Bachmann MotorMouth Overdrive starts her “poor, poor, pitiful me!” email:

Dear Friend:
Last month, I appeared on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News Channel. I was talking about the Democrats’ latest scheme to pick the taxpayer’s pocket to pay for a $1.5-billion slush fund for ACORN.

Before getting into the meat of this terrible new anti-taxpayer proposal, Sean Hannity said that he considers me “the second most hated Republican woman,” second only to Governor Sarah Palin.

Political Muse has the story; go there for the rest of the “poor, poor pitiful me!” sobfest – it’s worth your while.

In the meantime, remember – there’s a reason people pick on Bachmann MotorMouth Overdrive – let’s look!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I’ll be sitting next to Host Mark Heaney tonight on “The Mark Heaney Show” from 6 to 7 pm on AM-950 KTNF – “The Voice Of Minnesota.”

I’m not sure what all we’ll be talking and taking listener calls about; however, I am sure at some point we’ll be talking about “CommentGate” – the GOP Smear of GOP State Rep. Laura Brod – link here for Brian Falldin’s round-up of CommentGate. DustyTrice.com has a good wrap-up, too, and I’ve written about CommentGate here, “Who’s IP Is It?” and here, “…a Republican staffer in the capital…” and here, “Does Andy Gildea Still Work In Rep. Marty Seifert’s Capitol Office?” and again today here, “Another Piece In The CommentGate Puzzle”.

It is indeed a sordid tale of the GOPer’s dirty politicking, but then again: you simply cannot spell “dirty politicking” without “GOP.”

So at 6:00 pm tune in the ol’ radio to 950 on the am dial, or listen via your computer.

On June 4th – over at Michael Brodkorb’s “Minnesota Democrats Exposed” – I noticed a reprehensible smear of GOP State Representative Laura Brod. While the comment making the smear, by an anonymous poster named “J” was taken down, subsequent comments acknowledging the smear were not – and I captured those comments on a screen shot. Now, regular readers here know I’ve taken shots at Laura Brod before, from nominating Laura Brod as Hypocrite Of The Month to her asinine voter fraud comments to, most recently, a complete debunking of a Canadian health care comment she twitted.

Those posts I made concerning Laura Brod are NOT about her or her private life – they are about her political activities and shots like I took are completely within the realm of acceptable politics: she ripped Al Franken while ignoring ol’ Smokescreen’s indefensible inaction during The Abramoff Scandal; she alleges voter fraud without making her case; and she made a claim about Canadian health care that simply wasn’t true.

Fair game, each and every one of ‘em. The smear campaign targeting Laura Brod? Completely unacceptable.

And it’s interesting to note that the smear campaign targeting Laura Brod, according to rightwing blogger Andy Aplikowski, was orchestrated not only from within the GOP, but at the highest levels within the GOP. Here’s what Andy Aplikowski posted:

The alleged culprits of the attack are Seifert supporters with speculation of the ringleader being the candidate himself. (ChangeWeMust.org)

Last Monday, August 10th, blogger Brian Falldin, who broke and is covering this story, posted the following breaking news:

MINNEAPOLIS (CWM) — We’ve received an e-mail confirmation from Residual Forces author Andy Aplikowski that Andy Gildea was the Republican Staffer referred to in his accusatory article. (CWM.org)

Tuesday, I confirmed Andy Gildea was on GOP Rep. Marty Seifert’s staff when this smear campaign was being orchestrated; Andy Gildea left Rep. Siefert’s staff when Seifert stepped down as Minority Leader. Andy Gildea is now employed as a Research Consultant by the GOP House Caucus.

Stay tuned as this CommentGate story of dirty GOP politics (are there any other?) continues….

…the YouTube after his, isn’t funny. At all.

I’m a big fan of mockery, ridicule, and scorn, and no one does it better than Jon Stewart on The Daily Show – let’s look!

Unfortunately, there are things happening these days, that aren’t funny. At all. Blue man in a Red district just put up a post “featuring” the picture of a swastika spray painted on Congressman David Scott’s (D-GA) District Office sign.

Those that are paying attention realize this isn’t the first instance of rightwingers using the swastika, Hitler, SS, etc. I noted the following YouTube on CrooksAndLiars.com – and it isn’t funny, either.

There’s a powder keg, with a short fuse. And today’s GOP leadership is sending out sparks. If one of those sparks catches, well……you can be sure, the GOP will blame it on us.

I went to the GOP Press Conference yesterday; the GOP wouldn’t let me observe because the presser was “for members of the Capitol Press Corps only.” No problem; I figured it was probably a joke anyway. And apparently, I was correct!

From The Pioneer Press reporters’ “Political Animal”:

Republicans run health ads in 1st and 7th; we publicize them
By Bill Salisbury on August 11, 2009 11:46 AM | 3 Comments

I hate it when I get sucked in on a publicity stunt, but that’s what you’re going to read about here. (PiPress.com)

Want to read more? Read it, here. And check out the comments — especially the third comment!

And remember, yesterday’s “stunt” by the GOP is simply another example of why reasonable people cannot reasonbly expect the GOP to tell the truth.

Brian Falldin reports that Andy Gildea currently works for the House GOP Caucus, and as recently as October 9th, 2008, Andy Gildea was one of GOP Rep. Seifert’s assistants. Does Andy Gildea still work in GOP Rep. Marty Siefter’s Capital office?

A phone call and email have not been returned.

Stay tuned!
