Once a month, Members of the Military Order of the Cootie from the George R. Wolff VFW Post #425 visit the Minneapolis Veterans Home to play bingo with the Ladies and Gentlemen that reside there. I was asked to fill in one time, and on the way out I noticed this picture on the wall, of the USS Grenadier. My father-in-law, Robert I. Merson, served 5 war patrols on this submarine – and survived a depth charge attack on one of those patrols. He finished his career pushing boots at Great Lakes. It is today, on Veterans Day, that we remember those who served, and give special thanks to those that served and gave all in service of this great Country, the United States of America.
